Reclamation & Prospecting Program (RAP)
June 14, 2010
What is RAP? It is an innovative program that is helping First Nations communities in Northern BC develop leadership and employment skills. Aimed at young adults, the program provides participants with valuable experience in mineral exploration and environmental monitoring and teaches a diversity of skills, including basic prospecting and First Nations culture.
A partnership of provincial and federal agencies, industry and educators collaborated to produce this pioneering training that is benefiting many First Nations youth and has even led to the creation of permanent Environmental Monitor Assistant Program (EMAP).
Attached is a link to the videao produced by the Provincial Government as part of the Excellence Awards. The title says “finalist”, be we know it sould be renamed “winner”.
