Hadi, si suzi, Paula Tait, si ne’h Betty Tait, Tsayu, si ba’p, Phillip Tait, Laksilyu. I am proud mother of two children, my daughter Taleetha and my son Rahim. I have 2 brothers and 3 sisters. I was born and raised in Witset and moved to Vancouver as a youth. While living in Vancouver, I attended the Native Education College, Langara College and then received a Bachelor of Arts Degree, majoring in Canadian Studies. After my university studies, I worked with multiple Indigenous organizations, in the areas of Treaty Negotiation, Education, Employment, Early Childhood Development, HIV/AIDS and now Social Services Sector. I am passionate in providing culture, advocating and working for Indigenous people, now I am working for my nation, it’s more meaningful for me, as I am part of a team that is helping reinstate our cultural ways and language. Being Wet’suwet’en means with my ancestor’s hard work and sacrifice, I am here, my children are here and my unborn grandchildren will be coming to my family, to my nation.
Tabi misih,
Paula Tait
