My name is Gary Michell Sr. I am a member of the Cenegeh Lhiy Yikh (house of my name eyes) in the Laksilyu clan. I am from Tse-Kya (Hagwilget). I have been employed by Wet'suwet'en Fisheries as an Assistant Supervisor in 2008-2009 fr Beach Seine, and in January 2012 I became a Wet'suwet'en Fisheries Guardian (Ranger). Acitvities within my role include conducting suveillance on the condition of salmon on Wet'suwet'en territories, Patrol Witset Canyon, and capture Sockeye salmon for DNA in the Morice/Bulkley rivers as well as Atna lake shore spawners. I interact with local and recreational fisherman. I also work with wildlife and take part in the Caribou Recovery Program, and moose and goat surveys.
