Hagwilnegh took his chief name in 1985. He is from Moricetown and is a collector of traditional art and sports memorabilia. He is involved in the community having served as an elected Moricetown Council member, and he sits on numerous education and welfare committees.
"My vision for the future is to see our people, community leaders and chiefs, lead the way in unity, and make decisions on our behalf. We will heal ourselves and our communities through forgiveness of ourselves and others".
