In the Spotlight

Gretchen Woodman

Gretchen Woodman, BA, BSW, MA.  Gretchen has been working for the Wet’suwet’en Hereditary leadership since 2011 developing, implementing and evaluating a distinctly Wet’suwet’en holistic wellness program stream.

Gretchen’s educational background includes undergraduate degrees in psychology and social work, and a Master of Arts degree in Conflict Analysis and Management.  She worked for the BC Provincial government for 12 years as a frontline child protection social worker and team leader.  Challenging existing power imbalances and the trend to over-professionalize social care responsibilities, Gretchen strongly believes that communities are the source of knowledge with inherent abilities to bring about healthy change.  Gretchen provides clinical support (i.e.: clinical supervision, team reflection, evaluation and monitoring) to the ANABIP team.  Gretchen provides technical support (i.e.: research and development, report writing, strategizing, etc.) to the Wet’suwet’en Wellness Working Group.
